La violoncelliste Sara Cortinas, née dans une famille de musiciens, a d’abord étudié avec Walter Grimmer au Conservatoire de Musique de Zürich, Suisse. À l’âge de dix-sept ans, Sara a commencé ses études à la Juilliard School avec Harvey Shapiro et David Soyer, d’où elle détient un baccalauréat et une maîtrise. Elle a aussi poursuivi ses études à l’Indiana University Jacobs School of Music avec János Starker.

Elle a participé à de nombreux festivals de musique, dont le Gregor Piatigorsky International Cello Festival à l’Université de Californie du Sud, le Perlman Music Program à Shelter Island, New York, et la Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander en Espagne. Elle a également joué pour de nombreux violoncellistes renommés tels que Steven Isserlis, Lluís Claret et Michel Strauss.

Sara a été lauréate du concours de violoncelle de la Holland-America Music Society (Chicago), du Concurso para Violoncello Carlos Prieto (Mexique) et du Olga Koussevitzky Competition for Strings à New York. Elle a collaboré avec des musiciens tels que les membres du Quatuor à cordes Emerson, Itzhak Perlman, Bruce Brubaker, et s’est produite dans des festivals et des concerts en Allemagne, en Suisse et aux États-Unis. Elle a joué de la musique de chambre au Alice Tully Hall, au Mendelssohn-Saal au Gewandhaus Leipzig et au Weill Recital Hall au Carnegie Hall.

Cellist Sara Cortinas, born into a musical family, initially studied with Walter Grimmer at the Konservatorium und Musikhochschule Zürich, Switzerland. At age seventeen, Sara began her studies at The Juilliard School with Harvey Shapiro and David Soyer, from where she holds a bachelor and master’s degree. She continued her studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with János Starker.

She has participated in numerous music festivals, including the Gregor Piatigorsky International Cello Festival at the University of Southern California, the Perlman Music Program in Shelter Island, New York, and the Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander in Spain. She also also played for many renowned cellists such as Steven Isserlis, Lluís Claret, and Michel Strauss.

Sara has been a prize-winner at the Holland-America Music Society Cello Competition, the Concurso para Violoncello Carlos Prieto, and the Olga Koussevitzky Competition for Strings in New York. She has collaborated with musicians such as members of the Emerson String Quartet, Itzhak Perlman, Bruce Brubaker, and has performed in festivals and concerts in Germany, Switzerland, and the United States. She has played chamber music at Alice Tully Hall, the Mendelssohn-Saal at Gewandhaus Leipzig and at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
